Toyota did confirm its intention to introduce electric pickup trucks as taxis, initially targeting markets like Thailand.

Currently, the market lacks compact electric pickup trucks within the Hilux’s competitive landscape. However, signs of change are on the horizon, with Isuzu planning a battery-powered D-Max and Volkswagen developing an electric SUV derived from its Amarok pickup.
