Latest Update: 2024 Toyota Crown Sport arrived in October 2023, with a price tag of $39,600.
Toyota has recently unveiled its sixteenth-generation Crown, and it seems like the lineup has expanded with the inclusion of three more body styles - Crown Sport, Sedan, and Estate. The Sedan is going to be offered with two-wheel drive, whereas the Sport and Estate will come with four-wheel drive. The company has already released the initial technical specifications for all three models, and they are expected to hit the market in Japan this fall, except for the Estate, which will be released later in 2024.
The Crown Sport, Sedan, and Estate will all come with seating for up to five people and be offered with hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The sedan will be available with 19- and 20-inch wheels, while the Sport and Estate will come with 21-inch alloys. The Japanese website has already showcased the Sport and Estate with two-tone paints, while the Sport model is shown only with a monochromatic finish.
Toyota had revealed only the exterior designs of the three extra Crown models last year. However, new videos show how the cars look on the inside, and it seems that they share the cabin with the Crown sold in the United States. If you are curious about the differences in size between the three new Crown models, you can check out the table attached below.
The new Crown family is based on the TNGA platform and is expected to be sold in approximately 40 countries and regions across the globe. Toyota aims to sell around 200,000 cars in 2024 when all four models will be available. However, it is still unclear which (if any) of the three new models will be introduced in the US.
