The Raptor R uses a 700-hp supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 Predator engine from the Mustang GT500. While 37-inch tires are standard equipment, Ford also gives the R stiffer front springs and specially tuned dampers to handle the extra weight. However, there are some significant differences between the pickup-truck version and the one under the Shelby GT500’s hood. In the mightiest Mustang, the blown motor makes 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque.

In the Raptor R, the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 makes 700 horses and 640 pound-feet.
