The wait for the revamped BMW X5 is almost over, with recent indications pointing to an imminent launch. Dubbed the X5 LCI (Life Cycle Impulse), the updated SUV made a brief appearance in a seven-second video on Twitter, hinting at a big surprise and revealing its arrival.

Speculation surrounding the launch of the 2025 X5 was sparked last week with rumors of a February 7 debut. The recent teaser only fuels the fire, offering a sneak peek at the updated model. Although details are scarce, one noticeable change is the addition of an illuminated grille, which could be an optional feature. This stylish touch was not present in the pre-facelift X5, but it is a familiar feature in the BMW SUV line-up, as the X6 already boasts this styling element.

In addition to the illuminated grille, the facelifted BMW X5 is also expected to feature a redesign of the headlights and taillights, incorporating new internal graphics. Spy photos have already hinted at modifications to the lighting clusters. It’s possible that the kidney grilles and bumpers may also be tweaked, along with the introduction of new exterior colors and wheel designs.

The real excitement, however, is expected to be found inside the cabin. The infotainment system will be upgraded to BMW’s iDrive 8, even though the brand is already in the process of preparing for its next-gen infotainment hardware and software. These changes are likely to bring a significant upgrade to the in-car experience.

In terms of performance, the BMW X5 LCI is expected to feature more electrification options. The six and eight-cylinder inline engines will likely receive some form of electric support, while the X5 xDrive45e plug-in hybrid will receive a more powerful engine. BMW is rumored to pair a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine with an electric motor, resulting in a peak output of 389 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque.
