Latest Update: 2024 Toyota Camry XSE NESCAR Race Car unveiled in November 2023, likely to cost around $42,000.
Toyota has unwrapped its latest masterpiece for the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) – the all-new Toyota Camry XSE race car, set to grace the tracks in the upcoming 2024 season. This sleek racing marvel, known as the Camry XSE Next Gen, follows in the tire tracks of its predecessor, the Toyota Camry TRD Next Gen, boasting an impressive record of 18 victories and 25 poles over the last two competitive seasons.
Collaborating seamlessly, Toyota, TRD (Toyota Racing Development, U.S.A.), and Calty Design embarked on a mission to replicate the body styling characteristics of the recently unveiled 2025 Toyota Camry XSE. The result is a racing beast adorned with features like a distinctive hammerhead front facia, an upper grille slot seamlessly integrated into the updated slim and wide headlights, and C-shaped corner vents accentuating the larger lower grille area. The hood boasts new character lines and duct exits, while the back facia showcases revised quarter panel styling and chamfered bumper corners, blending gracefully into the rear bumper. Complemented by updated, slender taillights, the new Camry race car exudes a more sculpted and aerodynamic appearance.
Paul Doleshal, the group manager of motorsports at TMNA (Toyota Motor North America), expressed enthusiasm about the 2024 Camry XSE race car, emphasizing its ability to showcase Toyota’s commitment to precision, mirroring the attention to detail seen in the street version of the Toyota Camry. He conveyed excitement about bringing this finely crafted machine to the race track, anticipating its success for years to come. Acknowledging the immense effort invested in the car’s production, Doleshal extended gratitude to the teams at TRD and Calty Design for creating a premier vehicle that will enable their racing partners to compete for victories and championships.
Toyota proudly maintains its position as the sole manufacturer in NASCAR to present three nameplates across the three national series – the Camry in the NCS, the GR Supra in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS), and the Tundra TRD Pro in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS). The numbers speak for themselves, with Toyota amassing 180 NCS wins and three championships, 201 NXS victories and four titles, and a whopping 228 wins and nine championships in the NCTS since its entry in 2004.
David Wilson, the president of TRD, emphasized the foundation of Toyota’s presence in NASCAR – a commitment to continuous improvement. The Camry XSE race car serves as a testament to this commitment, reflecting the key design attributes of the all-new production Toyota Camry. Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Wilson expressed anticipation in collaborating with race team partners to optimize the performance of the newly-designed Camry race car, aiming to uphold Toyota’s legacy of leading laps, winning races, and competing for championships.
The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season will witness the addition of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, bringing eight Toyota Camry XSEs to the track every weekend. The excitement kicks off with the Clash at the Coliseum exhibition race in Los Angeles, California, in February, promising a thrilling start to a season fueled by cutting-edge engineering and unwavering dedication to racing excellence.
